Current conditions of the stream flowing near the TD Convention Center.
A regenerative stormwater conveyance structure will be installed to allow for improved stormwater flow along the stream.
The TD Center project is intended to be a bank stabilization project that utilizes natural channel design principles and the use of regenerative stormwater conveyance to enhance the water quality in a degraded section of stream immediately downstream of the convention center and airport development. Construction will include pipe outlet stabilization, bank grading, and brush mattresses for slope stabilization.
This Stormwater Program project is part of the Richland Creek Water Quality Improvement Master Plan and is funded in part by the US EPA under a section 319 Grant through the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC).
Construction will begin late summer and will be complete by the end of the year. There will be no disruption to traffic, parking, or convention use.
