Sewer Basin Rehabilitation

Basin 7 Open Cut

Work began in November 2019 on a capital improvement project to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer infrastructure in the North Main area. An open cut approach is required, as sagging lines make pipe bursting impossible. The project will include road closures on Rutherford Road and a few other residential streets.

The majority of work will take place in the roadway and street parking will be limited during construction. Some road closures will also be necessary; however, access to property will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to take six months to complete.

Partial Basin Sewer Rehabilitation

In November 2019, the city will begin a one-year project to repair and maintain 72,550 linear feet of gravity sewer within the city. The project targets areas were flow meter results indicated improvements could be made. The project will include the replacement of lateral lines from the sewer main to the right-of-way.

A drop-in style public meeting about the project will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, at City Hall.
