Russell Stall
About the Council member
Russell has served on City Council since 2017. A native Greenvillian, Russell moved away after high school but returned after 16 years in Atlanta. Upon returning to Greenville, Russell founded Greenville Forward, a nonprofit organization charged with facilitating and shepherding Vision 2025, a community-wide vision for Greenville County. Prior to founding Greenville Forward, Russell owned ResearchWorks, a strategic marketing research firm focused on community visioning and development and customer satisfaction research.
Russell is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Emory University and a Master of City Planning from Clemson University. Russell currently is pursuing his doctorate in Planning, Design and the Built Environment from Clemson University. In addition to his professional work, he was the volunteer class facilitator for Leadership Greenville for 11 years and mentors young professionals through the Greenville Chamber’s Pacesetters program. He also organized TEDxGreenville, the first TEDx event in SC, and has hosted over 80 events in the last 11 years.
Among Russell’s many community leadership roles over the years are serving as president of the Rotary Club of Greenville and on the boards of organizations such as the Hispanic Alliance, Greenville Housing Authority, Greenville Housing Fund, the St. Francis Foundation, the Cancer Society and the Metropolitan Arts Council. He is a past recipient of the Leadership Greenville Alumni of the Year award and has been named one of Greenville's Most Influential People by Greenville Business Magazine three times.
Russell and his wife, Susan, have two grown sons. In his spare time, Russell is a SC Master Gardener, a Journeyman Beekeeper and a luthier.
